SERVICES

The principal service is an 11am Sung Mass each Sunday. Please see below for our calendar. The liturgy is based on the 1662 Prayer Book (BCP) and the Authorised Version of the Bible is used for the BCP lectionary readings. The language is traditional; the preaching sound and the ceremonial catholic in style. The Ordinary of the Mass is sung to either Shaw or Merbecke.  The service lasts about an hour and concludes with the Angelus, which is followed by conversation, coffee and tea.

The feel of the service is traditional and visitors often say that it takes them back to earlier memories of church. The liturgy attempts deliberately to be different from our experience of daily life; recognising that we are all in need of forgiveness. Through penitence and encounter with Our Lord in the liturgy, we experience holiness and are  equipped to go out and live our lives transformed by His grace.

St Clement's has a beautiful 19 century organ played by accomplished organists and singing at most Sunday services is supported by a mixed-voice volunteer choir.
